How to Get Presentation Opportunities Using Scripts
This procedure I call, The Question and Favor Script. The principal behind this concept is that everyone we know wants to help (yes, they do!) The scripts below will allow your ‘knowns’ (those people who know, like, or love you) to make connections for you.
To get in front of a general population use the followingscript:
Hi this is your name. (If necessary, explain how you know each other. Spend 30 to 60 seconds with your opening greeting.) The reason for my call is I have a question and a favor. The question is, “Who do you know that is looking for a presenter?” The favor is, “Can you introduce me?”
They may ask for specifics as to what type of group. For general market exposure most service organizations (Lions Clubs, Rotary) are looking for weekly presenters. They may want an outline of your presentation. You should have them available.

Specifics could be attorneys, financial planners, money managers, etc. My target markets are people in business. I present to groups of business professionals. Recently, I have presented to Sandler Sales, I do radio presentations on The Blend Magazine, and have spoken to The American Marketing Association.
We are looking for connections which come from introductions. The name and number is important. Be sure to have your contact make the call to insure that you are a warm referral versus a cold call.
